Why?

I'm starting this blog in an effort to find some good metal bands.  I seriously didn't have a favorite band for years...it was sad.  I'd hear a couple of pretty good songs on the radio and look for more from the artist only to find that the one song they had on the radio - was the only one that kinda sorta kicked ass.  It was enough to almost
make me want to listen to rap...I'm kidding, I'd rather stick needles in my eyes and listen to country!
Anyway, my quest continued until I heard the Bad Company remake by Five Finger Death Punch.  I'd heard the song on the radio several times and was intrigued by the vocals and the guitar work, so I decided to look them up on-line to see if they had anything else worth listening to, and was ecstatic to discover that they were
exactly what I'd been searching for.  I love this band and instantly became a Knucklehead!  You should know that I have a short attention span and get bored easily but I can listen to their cd's over and over again without having to skip any songs! These guys do not have any lame ass songs...amazing!  This hasn't happened since Appetite for Destruction by Guns n Roses.  It's been a long time coming and I started wondering how many other bands are there out there that I've missed?  So in case there's anyone else out there looking for some killer metal bands, I thought I'll blog about my hair whipping, head banging journey along the heavy metal road.  You can suggest bands and I'll check them out and I'll find some on my own as well.  Hopefully together we'll make metal mainstream like it should be!

Something else you should know is that I refuse to fall into the categorizing crap trap.  I like what I like and I like to call it metal.  End of story.
My criteria is simple: for a band to keep me listening, the vocals have to be dynamic, the melody has to be strong, the lyrics should be aggressive, the guitar riffs must kick ass and double kicks on the drums from time to time are a definite plus.  Oh and they absolutely must not take themselves too seriously.
'Nuff said...Bring it!
